Mr. Mockler is the Managing Principal, Co-General Partner, and leader of the Investment Committee for Rutherford Investment Company.
Mr. Mockler has led Rutherford since 2004 and has transformed the organization into a fully integrated real estate investment company that incorporates specialized teams focused on acquisition, property management, asset management, construction, equity, and debt financing. Under Mr. Mockler’s leadership, the Rutherford portfolio grew in value from $600 million to over $2.7 billion today with a diversified asset portfolio plan. In addition to multiplying the portfolio size, Mr. Mockler reshaped Rutherford’s investment strategy to have a long-term ownership horizon and dual goals of capital preservation and durable income growth. With a strong legacy of professional and ethical practices, Mr. Mockler has established Rutherford Investment Company to be an organization that will survive in perpetuity for the benefit of all stakeholders and residents for generations to come.
Mr. Mockler’s tenured career started at Marcus & Millichap, where he gained highly valuable experience and received numerous accolades. Mr. Mockler holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Land Economics from San Jose State University.
